One of my favourite places in the world for it’s magical sunsets and sunrises. I am not usually a morning person but when in Santorini I will rise before the sun in order document it’s rays peaking over the horizon. A sense of tranquility and appreciation for an event that happens daily.
Each sunset different from the last, running hues of orange, pink and blue. The evening sky reflecting on the calm caldera sea. I fell in love with these portraits so much that I have them framed all over my home!
On my first trip to Santorini I was lucky enough to stay in one of the most famous spots, right in the midst of the blue domes. I will attach a link below of where I stayed during my trip. I recommend finding an Air B&B for the best spots. Ideally you want to have a caldera view in Oia.
Each time I’ve visited Santorini I was visiting for work and I made the most of each trip by discovering lots of photo locations for my clients. I’ll be showing more of my wedding work from Santorini very soon.
The light on the island is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. In the UK, sunlight can be overpowering in the summer months and cause harsh shadowing. Santorini light is soft and because there are so many white buildings, the light reflects and gives a beautiful sheen on skin.
